As the editor of a magazine, I get pompous press releases about new CD releases like sand by the sea, some more, some less innovative. But what if the musical œuvre alone is so unmistakable that one hardly has to make an effort as a writer? Leichtmatrose is different! The organic electro-chanson fills the room with honeyed melodies and expressive poetry, whose seemingly easily digestible morsels can transform into razor-sharp projectiles at any time. Leichtmatrose provokes and stimulates thought with often sarcastic lyrics. They declare war on terrycloth pajamas, celebrate the swan song of antlered asses, hire the schoolboy snot as an accomplice, or join forces with hostel warden Joachim Witt to deal with the delicate topic of war traumas. Leichtmatrose takes you away from here, no matter where, and when the going gets tough, even to the bottom of the sea. And musically there are no limits: Emotional ballads are lined up with pithy sound powerhouses and even bombastic horns do not shy away from the light figure, but shows, surfing on a postmodern German wave, as versatile as life itself. His characteristic timbre stands out pleasantly from the 08/15 voices of today and helps the protagonist to slip into different roles in his stories that have become music, while always remaining believable. Quite obviously he has inhaled the drug "life" many times and thanks to his work as a drug counselor or probation officer, he has gotten to know both the joyful and the gloomy aspects. The result is an emotional cocktail blessed with a high recognition value and full of wonderful melodies that one would otherwise search in vain for in the pop circus. Leichtmatrose is unique and a real challenge. Face the real life, face Leichtmatrose!

Leichtmatrose ist Special Guest der „Confessions & Doubts Tour 2018“ von Peter Heppner! Ab dem 15.11. wird die Band mit ihrem neuen, von Rick J. Jordan produzierten Album „Heile Welt“ (VÖ: 26.10.) bei 13 Konzerten bis Mitte Dezember ihre eindringlichen und energiegeladenen Liveshows für alle Fans (und diejenigen, die es mit Sicherheit werden) in ganz Deutschland präsentieren.
